Below are some details we would like to share:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Group Pre-Event Swims:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So that swimmers can introduce themselves to one another, we will have some informal group swims, and a meeting at the dock at Captain Don’s Habitat at 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 3rd and Friday, November 4th.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pre- Race Meeting:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Remember, there is an important pre-race meeting on Friday evening. Honestamente después de 20 años nadando, y probablemente 7 a un nivel competitivo yo he visto tantos estilos y técnicas como nadadores hay. Sin embargo, yo era un verdadero creyente que sólo los que aprendían de niños eran capaces de sentirse cómodos en el agua.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;El tiempo ha demostrado lo muy equivocado que he estado en muchos aspectos de vida, y nadar no es excepción. Después de empezar a nadar a nivel Master (sólo después de haber pasado por el Waterpolo y maratonismo) descubrí que los adultos disciplinados pueden mejorar su natación hasta un nivel competitivo. Ahora bien; esta gente es admirable!!! Yo nado porque me siento cómodo y relajado mientras nado, de lo contrario estaría jugando Dominó o Nintendo, no obstante esto tipos soportan dolor durante años hasta que consiguen ese sentimiento de comodidad en el agua.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La técnica es un problema irresoluto para mí; pero la técnica de agua abierta está más misterio aún. En futuros postings espero poder encontrar suficiente data como para traer a la discusión los asuntos sobre la técnica, brazada, etc.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Today is Thursday, and as every Thursday after a though day I just stretch and go to the pool for very easy drills to check technique.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the discussions always heard around a Masters pool is if technique is the single most important thing when swimming, and weather or not it can be acquired if you started swimming after adulthood. Honestly after 20 years swimming, and probably 7 at a competitive level I saw as many styles and techniques as swimmers were in the field. However, I was a true believer that only young learners were able to get the “comfort” feeling while in the water.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Time has proved me wrong in many aspects of life, and swimming is no exception. After starting my Master swimming venture (only after having passed through Waterpolo and marathoning) I discovered that disciplined adults are perfectly able to improve swimming to up to a competitive level. However I must say that I honestly admire these guys. Como les escribí la última vez ayer luego de las 6000yds (supuestamente suaves) no quería imaginarme como iba a sufrir en la tarde, y lo único que pensaba durante el día era en las ganas que tenía de que hubiese un cambio de planes y Salvador tuviese piedad de mi en la tarde.    Como siempre ocurre. Nada de cambio de planes, Salvador se metió conmigo al agua y allí comenzó el dolor…    3x550yds a paso de 1:15 por cada 100yds. 30 segundos de descanso entre series.    3x275yds a paso de 1:13 por cada 100yds. Saliendo cada 3:50min.    La verdad el entrenamiento fue duro, pero creo que la combinación de hacer drafting en las de 550, en lugar de jalar como acostumbro fue súper útil para terminar con fuerza. Las de 275 logré salir delante las primeras 3 por lo que las últimas tres en lugar de nadar en círculos Salvador se puso en el carril de al lado…tremenda ayuda!! So I went to bed with a smile on my face  J&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today I found out some communication problems:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1000yds warm-up&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;800yds faster every 200yds (from 2:40 to 2:25)&lt;br /&gt;600yds&lt;br /&gt;400yds&lt;br /&gt;200yds&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;10x150yds @ 2:00min. (Arriving @ 1:52 on avg.)&lt;br /&gt;10x100yds @1:30min with paddles&lt;br /&gt;10x50yds @55sec alternating 1 easy 1 @ 80%&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;100yds cool down&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Total session: 6000yds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Honestly I feel tired, supposedly this afternoon we should swim 4K with good pace, I hope there has been some change in my coach’s mind over the afternoon….&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;--------------------------------------------------------------------&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;El miércoles por la Mañana; ¡pesados 6k!!! &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Después del entrenamiento de anoche mi entrenador ycompañero de entrenamientos (Salvador) me dijo que esperara una mañana fácil el próximo día. Al igual que las 6 semanas previas el entrenamiento consiste en 2 sesiones por día (1era a las 6:00am, 2da a las 7:30pm) con un promedio de 3Km por sesión y un máximo de 10Km. por día.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Los días martes y jueves el entrenamiento es a intensidad moderada por lo que luego de la primera sesión completo con 30min. de carrera muy suave (espero eso ayuda a perder un poco de peso). Los Miércoles la distancia aumenta hasta 10Km, y los Viernes el trabajo es corto pero de intensidad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hoy el entrenamiento fue como sigue:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.- 400yds. Calentamiento&lt;br /&gt;2.- 12x25 1 patada 1 corrección de estilo&lt;br /&gt;3.-12x50yds @ 50:00sec cada 2 mas rápido (las primeras llegando en 37sec. las últimas 33sec.)&lt;br /&gt;4.- 8x200yds @ 3:00min progresivo de 1 a 4. La primera a 2:26, la última 2:10&lt;br /&gt;5.- 400 paletas&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Total 3300Yds.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-----------------------------------------------------------&lt;br /&gt;@ 6 weeks before the race, this week began today after three days of rest. Same as previous 6 weeks the training consists on 2 sessions per day (1st at 6:00am, 2d at 7:30pm) with an average of 3Km for session and a maximum of 10Km. per day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On Tuesdays and Thursdays the training is of moderated intensity, reason why I complete it by running 30min after the first session. (Hoping this will help to lose some weight).
